What exactly is it you are trying to reform? Mufon has been around for four decades so they seem to be doing ok. How is this forum going to change anything?

They may seem to be doing ok on the outside but on the inside things aren't quite so spectacular. A lot of people are upset with some of the decisions that the management has been making lately. That's why several thousand members have quit over the past few years. They wouldn't be leaving if they were happy. I don't expect this forum to change anything. It is just a place where people can discuss what is going on with MUFON and see if they can come up with some solutions. If anybody has an opinion to offer they are more than welcome to. I'm sure the Committee would love to have your input.

I lost faith in Mufon a long time ago and they are going to have to work very hard to rebuild my trust. If this forum can change things more power to it!!

Yep, it had a lot of potential. it still does, we just need to get the right people in charge of it. The ones there now ain't it!

MUFON won't change. We will be "outsiders" and not taken seriously by them. They will probably react by: (1) Ignoring the CRM group until we start to be visible and get attention from other groups. Then: (2) MUFON will make jokes about us. Maybe call us "tinfoil-hats" to marginalize us until: (3) MUFON goes on the offensive. (This is when we are scaring them) Threats of lawsuits, intimidation, email spam, etc and who knows what. They have powerful friends in high places.
IMHO the Achilles heel is their Not-For-Profit tax status. Ask yourself this... Why is MUFON afraid of outsiders on the board? If there are no thousands or millions of dollars at stake, what's the big deal?
I have no knowledge about MUFON business. I have no idea of any unlawfulness or tax evasion by them. But as a former, dues paying MUFON member ID#17409, I'd like to know where my annual dues money went. Most MUFON members are volunteers. Where does the money go? BB

I think they have already tried all three of those to some extent. It just isn't working.

Do you think this is really going to make a difference? Even if you somehow manage to get half of the members on your side the other half will still be against you. it sounds to me like you are fighting a losing battle.

So what are you people going to do now that the Board has shot down your election campaign? Are you ready to call it quits yet?

The fact that this board exists because the conversation here is BANNED on the MUFON board should speak VOLUMES what kind of problems MUFON has.

That's true Mr. Guest. The first MUFON forum was cancelled partly because the BoD didn't like some of the things people were discussing. On the second MUFON forum several people were fired from their positions because of the same reason. MUFON is obsessed with controlling information, especially when it is critical of them.
